School libraries by municipality 2025
Pupils' access to school libraries, staffing and collections in 290 municipalities from the National Library of Sweden's official statistics for 2025. The figures describe each municipality as a whole, not individual schools.
All municipalities
Select a column heading to sort. Staff hours and copies per library are shown only for municipalities with at least 5 school libraries; an average over fewer libraries is close to individual schools' figures.

About the statistics
- "On a school unit" means a library on the pupils' own or another school unit. Integrated public and school libraries and contractor-run libraries are shown on each municipality page.
- "Staffed" means any form of staffing and says nothing about how many hours.
- KB's current survey was first carried out in 2025, with reference year 2024. Staffing was measured differently in 2024; KB has revised the 2024 total staffing so that it can be compared, and that is the only comparison between years shown.
- Collections: about a quarter of libraries did not answer KB's collection survey, and KB does not adjust for the non-response.
