Versioning policy

How Skolkoll versions, archives and licenses data — and how to cite it.

Date-based versioning

Skolkoll collects data from multiple open data sources with known update frequencies (see data sources). Each time a data source is updated the previous version is archived with a timestamp. The data shown on the site is always the latest collected version.

Archival

Older versions are retained and pruned automatically. There is no guarantee that all historical versions of a dataset remain available. Archived versions are named with timestamps (e.g. data/archive/v-2026-03-01T12-00-00-000Z/).

Citing data

Data and analyses from Skolkoll may be freely cited with attribution. Suggested format:

Skolkoll, "Merit value year 9", retrieved 2026-05-07
URL: https://skolkoll.se/en/statistics/merit-grundskola/
Source: Skolverket Statistics Database (SIRIS)

Always include the retrieval date so the reader knows which data version you are referring to. See also the citation guide.
