Can I get into upper-secondary school?

Enter your final-grade score — we show which schools and programmes are realistic. The assessment is based on Skolverket's historical admission scores and shows trends over three years.

⚠️ This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Next year's admission scores depend on application patterns, the number of places and grades that have not yet been published. Treat the result as decision support, not as the final word.

1. Enter your final-grade score

The final-grade score is calculated from your 16 best final grades (max 320) plus modern languages (up to 20 extra). If you do not know your score, you can calculate it here.

How do I interpret the result?

High likelihood
Your final-grade score is 20+ points above last year's admission score. Solid margin — but not a guarantee if demand rises.
Open admission
The admission score is so low (under 100) that everyone who applied got in in previous years. Expect a place.
Possible
You are within ±10 points of the most recent cutoff. Could go either way — apply as a backup option but have a plan B.
Difficult
You are more than 10 points below last year's cutoff. Possible if demand drops, but unlikely.
Unknown
The school/programme has no published admission score. Contact the school directly for current information.

Trend arrows: ↑ = score has risen ≥ 10 points over the past 3 years · ↓ = fallen ≥ 10 · → = stable · grey = too little data.

Frequently asked questions

What is the final-grade score and how is it calculated?

The final-grade score is calculated from your 16 best final grades in Year 9 (max 320 points), plus extra points for modern languages (up to 20 points). The maximum is therefore 340. You can calculate your own score via Skolkoll's glossary: /en/glossary/meritvarde/.

Can I trust the simulator to tell me if I'll get in?

No. The simulator compares your final-grade score against last year's admission scores — it is a decision aid, not a guarantee. Next year's admission scores depend on demand, the number of places and final grades that have not yet been published.

What do High likelihood, Possible and Difficult mean?

High likelihood = your final-grade score is at least 20 points above last year's admission score. Possible = you are within ±10 points of the cutoff and could go either way. Difficult = you are more than 10 points below last year's cutoff. Open admission = the admission score was so low (under 100) that all applicants have been admitted in previous years.

What final-grade score do I need for the Natural Sciences programme?

It varies widely between schools and municipalities. At popular inner-city schools the admission score can exceed 300 points, while other schools admit students with significantly lower scores. Filter on the Natural Sciences programme in the simulator and your municipality to see current figures per school.

Why are admission scores missing for some schools and programmes?

Skolverket does not publish admission scores when the number of applicants is too small (confidentiality and statistical uncertainty) or when all applicants were admitted. Such programmes are marked as Open admission or Unknown in the simulator — contact the school directly for current information.
