Upper secondary credits (gymnasiepoäng) are the unit of measurement indicating a course's scope in upper secondary school. An upper secondary programme comprises a total of 2,500 credits spread over three years. A standard course is 100 credits, but courses range from 50 to 200 credits.

Diploma requirements

For an upper secondary diploma, a passing grade is required in at least 2,250 of the 2,500 credits. The 2,500 credits are distributed among programme-common courses, programme-specific courses, specialisation courses, and individual choice.
