Additional adjustments (extra anpassningar) are support measures that fall within regular instruction and do not require a formal decision by the principal. They are the first step to help a student who is at risk of not meeting the goals.
Examples
- Clearer instructions and structure
- Extra time for tasks
- Adapted learning materials
- Visual schedules or picture support
- Shorter work sessions
Difference from special support
If additional adjustments are not sufficient, the school must investigate the need for special support, which requires a formal action programme. The boundary between additional adjustments and special support relates to the scope and duration of the intervention.
