Municipal activity responsibility (Kommunalt aktivitetsansvar)

The municipality's obligation to stay in contact with and offer support to young people aged 16–20 who are neither studying nor working.

Kommunalt aktivitetsansvar (municipal activity responsibility) means that the municipality must stay informed about and offer appropriate support to young people under the age of 20 who are not enrolled in upper secondary school and do not hold an upper secondary diploma.

Purpose

The purpose is to reach young people at risk of falling outside education and the labour market. The municipality must offer guidance and motivate them to return to education. This may involve work placements, job-seeking support, or referrals to municipal adult education (komvux) or folk high school.
