Sveriges Lärare (Swedish Teachers)

New trade union formed in 2023 through the merger of Lärarförbundet and Lärarnas Riksförbund.

Sveriges Lärare (Swedish Teachers) was formed on 1 January 2023 through a merger of Lärarförbundet and Lärarnas Riksförbund. With approximately 320,000 members, it is Sweden's largest trade union for teachers and school leaders.

Mission

Sveriges Lärare advocates for teacher salaries, working conditions, work environment, and teacher certification. The union is an important voice in the education debate and negotiates collective agreements for teachers with SKR and Almega.
