A studie- och yrkesvägledare (study and career counsellor, abbreviated SYV) helps students make well-informed choices about education and future careers. According to the Education Act, every student must have access to guidance.
Responsibilities
The SYV provides information about upper secondary programmes, helps students understand their options, offers individual counselling sessions, and arranges workplace visits. The SYV plays an important role ahead of the upper secondary school choice in year 9 and when selecting specialisations within upper secondary school.
