The school nurse (skolsköterska) is the medical professional in the student health team. The school nurse is responsible for health check-ups (vision, hearing, growth), vaccinations, medical advice, and health conversations.
Health conversations
Every student is offered health conversations at several points during their schooling. These conversations provide an opportunity to detect health problems, mental ill-health, and social difficulties early on. The school nurse collaborates with the school doctor, counsellor, and special needs educator.
