The School Commission (Skolkommissionen) was a government inquiry that presented proposals in 2017 to strengthen Swedish schools. The commission was led by Professor Jan-Eric Gustafsson and focused on equity and improved results.

Proposals

Key proposals included: mandatory school choice with active selection, socioeconomic distribution of resources, strengthened state governance, a national strategy against the teacher shortage, and measures against school segregation. Several proposals have since formed the basis for political reforms.
