A school unit (skolenhet) is the organisational unit led by a principal (rektor) that has a unique school unit code in Skolverket's register. It is the fundamental statistical unit in Swedish school statistics.
School unit vs school
A school unit can be an entire school or part of a larger school building. For example, the same building may house a compulsory school unit (F–9) and an upper-secondary unit, which are counted as separate school units. Each school unit has its own principal and reports statistics separately.
