VFU (Verksamhetsförlagd utbildning, school-based training) refers to the placement periods in teacher education where the student teaches at a school under the supervision of an experienced teacher.
Scope
VFU comprises at least 30 higher education credits in the teacher education programme. During VFU, the student plans lessons, delivers instruction, and assesses students under supervision. The quality of VFU is considered to have a significant impact on the future teacher's competence.
