A lektor (senior lecturer) in schools is a teacher with postgraduate research training (licentiate or doctoral degree) who holds a career post with a salary supplement of at least SEK 10,000 per month. Senior lecturers are funded through government grants for career posts.
Role
The senior lecturer is expected to contribute to the school's knowledge development, connect research to practice, and mentor colleagues. The number of senior lecturers in schools is still relatively small — most are found in upper secondary school and the later years of compulsory school.
