Introductory programmes (introduktionsprogram, IM) are upper-secondary programmes for students who have not achieved eligibility for national programmes. The five introductory programmes are:

Significance

Approximately 13–15% of upper-secondary students are enrolled in introductory programmes. The goal is for students to become eligible for a national programme or find other meaningful activity. The time spent on IM varies — some students need only six months, while others require several years.
