Individual development plan (IUP)

A written summary of a pupil's academic progress and planned support measures. Drawn up in year levels without grades.

An individual development plan (individuell utvecklingsplan, IUP) is a written document summarising a pupil's academic progress and describing planned support measures. The IUP is drawn up in year levels without grades (typically F–5) in connection with the parent-teacher conference.

Content

The IUP contains an assessment of where the pupil stands academically and socially, as well as what measures are planned to support continued development. The document should be forward-looking and concrete.
