Digital competence (Digital kompetens)

The ability to use digital tools, critically evaluate information, and act responsibly online.

Digital competence (digital kompetens) is one of the capabilities that the curriculum states schools must develop. It involves being able to use digital tools, search for and evaluate information, create digital content, and act responsibly on the internet.

In the curriculum

Since the 2017 curriculum revision (Lgr17), digital competence has been incorporated into the syllabi. Programming elements are included in mathematics and technology. Students are expected to develop an understanding of how digital systems work and how algorithms affect society.
